Christ Is The Cure

-- There is much that ails this old sinful world.
The problems, sickness and destruction of man
unto man can be read everyday in the newspapers.
Where does it all end? What or who is the cure?
The Lord Jesus Christ is our everything. He is
our Creator, Commander, Controller - He is our Cure.

He is the cure for a doubtful future.
Look what is taking place in the world today!
He is the cure for a drifting family. A wayward
husband a cheating wife a rebellious son or daughter.
The safest place you can put your family is in
the hands of Jesus. Some parents are dependent
on schools or doctors. A man once said, "You
can't take anything to Heaven with you."
But he was wrong. You can take your family.
Is your family in?
Christ is the cure for ALL family problems.

Christ is the cure for a disturbed friend.
Some turn to drugs, liquor, sex, and crime.
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" Phil 4:7
He is the cure for a dull existence. We can have a victorious
life in Christ. HIS joy is unsurmountable and imeasurable.

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even
our faith," I John 5:4 No matter what happens to me
in life - heaven is my home and the devil
can't take that away from me!

JESUS IS The CURE for a doomed soul.
What does the world have to offer?
Nothing but emptiness and eternal darkness.

"COME UNTO ME ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND HEAVY LADEN
AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST .
Love, Jesus

Bible Verses to Ponder

John 14:1-11 (TLB)
"Let not your heart be troubled.
You are trusting God, now trust in me.
{2} There are many homes up there where my Father lives,
and I am going to prepare them for your coming.
{3} When everything is ready, then I will come and get you,
so that you can always be with me where I am.
If this weren't so, I would tell you plainly.
{4} And you know where I am going and how to get there."

{5} "No, we don't," Thomas said. "We haven't any
idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
{6} Jesus told him, "I am the Way--yes, and the Truth and the Life.
No one can get to the Father except by means of me.
{7} If you had known who I am, then you would have
known who my Father is. From now on you know him--
and have seen him!"

{8} Philip said, "Sir, show us the Father and we will be satisfied."
{9} Jesus replied, "Don't you even yet know who I am, Philip,
even after all this time I have been with you?
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!
So why are you asking to see him?
{10} Don't you believe that I am in the Father
and the Father is in me?

The words I say are not my own
but are from my Father who lives in me.
And he does his work through me.
{11} Just believe it--that I am in the Father
and the Father is in me. Or else believe it because
of the mighty miracles you have seen me do.

Mat 28:18-20 (KJV)
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
{19} Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

{20} Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the world

Welcome everyone!

LOVE IS SOMETHING

Love covers a multitude of sins...

13-May-05

Love is patient and kind, never envies, never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude or selfish, nor quick to take offense.

Love keeps no score of wrongs, nor gloats of anothers failures or sins but delights in the truth

There is nothing love cannot face There is no limit to its faith and its hope and endurance

In a word there are three things that last forever faith hope and love but the greates of these is love

Hello my friends..Thanks for viewing my webpage and there is a lot of good information here, and I change it periodocally so please come back..

My hope is to help hurting people everywhere, and give good sound advice, for those who seek it..I am helped daily through the word of God, The Bible, and I hope you will be too..It is amazing to me that so many people are hurting, but won't take the time to seek the answers, in the only book that gives them..Go to BibleGateway.com and read the Bible or buy yourself a Life Application Study bible and ask, seek and knock and God WILL answer all your prayers and happiness and joy will abound..We do not have to live lives of defeat and depression, fear and worry, sickness, addiction, and pain..There are answers for all who will let Jeus work in there lives..Many are the afflictions of man, but God delivers us OUT OF them ALL.My hope is you will read your Bible and then go back and study it, cross reference it, and really get the knowledge in there, to apply daily in your lives..God can heal you, stop depression, stop addictions, heal marriages, relationships and families torn apart by divorce, or something worse..He can do anything you ask if you will simply beleive..So many people do not think God exists because of all the bad in the world, but Man has caused the pain in the world today..Not GOD! If you blame God for anything you stop his blessing and actually line up your thinking with the wrong force of evil, who is alive and well in this world today..Blessing and cursing are in the tongue, so speak life to your situations, not words of death..Line your speech pattern up with Gods word and He will reward you..God can and will deliver us from ALL pain, sickness, affliction, depression, addictions and trouble, if we seek his face and his ways..God brings life and life more abundantly..Satan comes to steal kill and destroy..God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, and if you learn his ways, will he can make ALL crooked places straight..God did not promise us an easy life..But we can overcome anything and any disease if we simply beleive on His word and Him that gave that Word to man..I pray your faith grows stronger and you seek to find answers for your own problems..The answer IS in his WORD, every blessed page of it..I have overcome great things in my life and every day I thank God for always being there to deliver me out of my problems..You will have a great future if you find the light in this world..He has always been there waiting for you to come to Him and seek his face and his ways..There are 3 voices in our heads..Your own, Gods and the Devils..Never beleive the word of the devil and cast down those thoughts and imaginationsof fear worry defeat and failure..Those thoughts actually exalt thereself AGAINST the word of GOD! So get in your Bible and find out what God says you are..and line your thinking up with His thoughts about you..Never accept defeat and trust that He will help you grow in your thinking and your future..The fruits of the spirit are

  • love; joy; peace; patience; kindness; goodness
  • faithfulness; gentleness; self-control We are advised to think on these things:things that are:true; noble; just; pure; lovely; of good report; of any virtue; worthy of praise. We are tp put on hese garments also:tender mercies; kindness; humility; meekness; patience. We are instucted to:bear with one another; making allowances for each others faults, as God does fo us,forgive one another; love; let the peace of God rule their hearts; be thankful; have the Word live in them; teach and admonish one another; sing with grace in their hearts! I pray you will gain confidence and hope through my website..Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and you are more than a conqueror when you tap into the power of the Blood, and the mighty Name of Jesus..Anytime you are in fear or trouble or in a great storm, speak the name of Jesus and he will save you..There is GREAT POWER in the name of Jesus! Just saying his name, the devil trembles..You can stop bad things from happening by just saying His name, but beleiving is essential..You must beleive in Him with your whole heart and soul..After all He created the universe and the amazing human body and all good things come from God! He is all powerful, all knowing and can be where you are, and he is well able to perform anything you ask of him, especially things that are in the scriptures. The New Testament is chock full of all God can offer to the beleiver..If you have never known Christ, you can receive Him now by saying this simple prayer..Heavenly Father:.....................................................................
I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of
my Sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my
heart that Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have
Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe
that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now
to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and
Savior. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the
day's of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess
with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed
by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus Name Amen...................................................
If you said this prayer friends, you have been born again and you are saved through your faith ,and beleiving in the name of Jesus..Your name is now written in the Lambs book of life..There is one true God and Jesus is the only way to heaven..noone can come to the Father, except through the mighty name of Jesus..God bless you all and I pray you now learn His ways..Read the entire Bible, and study it out..It is a handbook for life..Love to all..praise God that many will get saved today! Don't be anxious, just take it page, by page, and daily God will belss you for it..It is amazing to me that people will read a novel or a exercise book in a matter of days or even hours, but they wil go a lifetime without reading the Bible..You will defeat the devil if you break through his lies and be diligent, and read this book! I have read it 3 times all the way through and I am reading it again..it is not meant o just sit on the coffeee table..it is needed daily..Jesus said to write the words of the Bible on your heart so that you can call upon the words when you need them..If a great storm comes, you will know what to say, because you have read it! Every time a terrible storm comes and once during a tornado that tore through my town.I spoke "Peace be still in the name of Jesus",and although that storm ripped up everything around me, I was safe, because I knew that scripture..This is not magic friends..it is power through Jesus' name..Pray without ceasing daily..Sometimes you might have to pray several times, for a thing, but it is to test your faith..pass this test friends..Praying is not something you have to do at a certain time at night before you sleep...YOu can speak it out or pray under your breath as God knows all our thoughts and hears you praying without even speaking a word..Prayer is the most useful tool God gives us and we should do it any time we feel the urge..You may be speakng o soeone whi is in great turmoil and as they tell you there story, you an pray within for them as theyare speaking..I want you all to know that I am not a fanatic, I just know the great POWER in this BOOK and Jesus' name as I have been saved from certain death many times in my life and once when my 2000 lb truck landed on top of me, and God delivered me that night with only bruised ribs.. I simply want to share my testimony and my tremendous faith with a hurting people in hurting world..if you got saved through this website and need prayer..Sign my guestbook so I can pray for you! Thanks for visiting and May God Bless you all..
  • Become a quick listener

    Become a Quick Listener

“My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry ….” James 1:19 (NIV)

    *** *** *** ***

The Bible says we should be quick to listen. There are three things that generally hinder our ability to hear what others are saying:

    1) Presumption – This is when we think we already know what the other person is going to say; yet, the Bible says, “He who answers before listening – that is his folly and hisshame.” (Proverbs 18:13 NIV)

    2) Impatience – This is when you interrupt and jump to conclusions: “There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking.” (Proverbs 29:20 NLT)

    3) Pride – This is when we become defensive and unteachable: “The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.” (Proverbs 12:15 NIV)

    What does this mean?

Let me suggest three HEARING AIDS:

    · Listen with your eyes – Research suggests that about 80 percent of communication is non-verbal.Our facial expressions and body language tend to tell the real story.

    · Listen with your heart – Be sympathetic.Tune in to the emotions behind the words.

    · Make time to listen to the people around you – You show people how much you value them when you take time to listen. Imagine how your home or where you work might be transformed if you make an effort to be “quick to listen.”

Quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger

    09-Jun-08

    Quick to Hear

It seems that we have made it a virtue not to listen to others. Once we have identified someone as belonging to a certain camp or taking a certain position on a litmus-test issue—they all seem to be litmus-test issues these days—we already know what they are going to say, and we already disagree. There is no need to listen to them, except perhaps to find points from which we can launch our rebuttal. But let us beware when we set aside the express teaching of the Word of God: "Let every person be quick to hear." If this is important in everyday life, how much more important is it in rendering judgments in the courts of the church! Divine wisdom declares:

If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.... The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him. (Prov. 18:13, 17)

But human wisdom declares that we need not listen to those who have taken a different position from ours on an important issue. For there are some offenses so grievous that to stand accused is to stand condemned. In our secular culture, one accused of child molestation or sexual harassment is presumed guilty. In the eyes of the world, he is guilty and can never recover his reputation. In the church, one accused of heresy or doctrinal error is presumed guilty. There is no need to weigh evidence or to listen to explanations, for the man's teaching speaks for itself. Besides, if he were orthodox, why would anyone accuse him of doctrinal error or heresy?

Or is "innocent until proven guilty" one of the laxities of our secular culture? Perhaps divine law does not admit a principle so favorable to the offender. But Scripture itself says, "Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses" (2 Cor. 13:1). That means that an accusation cannot stand without evidence, which is to say that the accused is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. There is no exception for charges of doctrinal error or heresy.

    Slow to Speak

As a certain wit has expressed it, the good advocate must have "the courage to never shut up." But divine wisdom says:

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. (Prov. 10:19)

The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. (Prov. 15:28)

Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent. (Prov. 17:27?28)

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Prov. 29:20)

Many a dispute would be quenched by silence, many a quarrel would be stillborn, if not kept alive by our desire to have our say. And when at length we speak, many a quarrel would be ended by speaking gently, according to divine wisdom:

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Prov. 12:18)

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.... A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. (Prov. 15:1, 4)

We would all agree that such restraint and gentleness are required in personal matters. But what if momentous doctrinal issues are at stake? Must we not then speak forcefully? We may if our office allows it, and we must if the truth demands it. But no one in the OPC, we trust, claims to hold the office of apostle or prophet. Since we are not apostles or prophets, we may not assume that our pronouncements are beyond questioning. And no individual elder or minister, or group of ministers and elders not constituted as a court of the Church, can lawfully declare someone to be a heretic or to be guilty of censurable error.

Even when our office demands that we speak out against errors and heresies, it never allows us to slander anyone. The defense of the truth and the slander of our neighbor make strange bedfellows, to say the least. Significantly, when Peter exhorts us to put away sin, he tells us to "put away all malice and all deceit ... and all slander" (1 Pet. 2:1). All malice, even that which springs from the odium theologicum (theological hatred), and all slander, even slandering our theological opponents, is to be put away. James says:

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? (James 4:11?12)

Who are we indeed? We would do well to remember that revilers (slanderers) are numbered among those who will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9?11). Slanderers are ranked together with thieves, adulterers, and idolaters.

When we do speak, let us bear in mind the ninth commandment. According to the Larger Catechism, the ninth commandment requires "a charitable esteem of our neighbors; loving, desiring, and rejoicing in their good name; sorrowing for, and covering of their infirmities; freely acknowledging of their gifts and graces, defending their innocency; a ready receiving of a good report, and unwillingness to admit of an evil report, concerning them; discouraging tale-bearers, flatterers, and slanderers" (LC 144). Likewise, the ninth commandment forbids "speaking the truth unseasonably, or maliciously to a wrong end, or perverting it to a wrong meaning, or in doubtful and equivocal expressions, to the prejudice of truth or justice; ... misconstructing intentions, words, and actions; ... raising false rumors, receiving and countenancing evil reports, and stopping our ears against just defense; evil suspicion; envying or grieving at the deserved credit of any, endeavoring or desiring to impair it, rejoicing in their disgrace and infamy" (LC 145).

    Slow to Anger

Anger seems to accomplish much. An angry employer drives his employees to greater productivity. An angry husband and father keeps his wife and children in submission and "runs a tight ship." An angry wife and mother gets her way as the rest of the family does not dare to risk her ire. An angry pastor bullies his congregation, so that no dissension appears within his flock, and a happy uniformity of belief and opinion prevails. An angry presbyter intimidates a judicatory of the church and sways a vote his way. But against this stands divine wisdom:

Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. (Prov. 14:29)

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. (Prov. 16:32)

Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare. (Prov. 22:24?25)

A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression. (Prov. 29:22)

But is there no such thing as righteous indignation? Is there not a holy anger against the enemies of God and of his truth? No doubt there is, but we should doubt whether it really exists as often as it is professed. Most of all, anger must not be present in courts of judgment. Anger hinders deliberation and the formation of a righteous judgment. Anger has no place in the courts of the church.

    Danger Zones

What then shall we do? Do not be enticed into thinking that the "ordinary" rules of godly speech and behavior do not apply to us. A neon warning sign ought to flash every time we go online or open our e-mail.

Web browsers are incapable of sorting out the value of the information in the thousands of sites that match the key words in a search. The distinctions between evidence and hearsay, between a primary source and a secondary source, are being eroded. A theological hypothesis that might in former times have been quietly discussed among friends is now posted on the Web or forwarded by e-mail to hundreds of people on a mailing list and made into a national or global controversy among people who scarcely know each other, if at all. In cyberspace, the effects of gossip and slander are greatly magnified.

I plead with you, young pastor—and old pastor, if the warning applies!—beware of the Internet, beware of e-mail. They not only tempt you to indulge in slander and gossip and magnify their effects, but can also eat your time away and thus make your ministry of praying, preaching, and counseling ineffective. What would happen over the next five years if you took the time you would have spent surfing the Web and instead prayed for the church of Jesus Christ, studied the Word that you are to preach, counseled and encouraged the weak, and visited the sick and dying?

Promises of God we can count on

    13-May-05

    ....

  • Promises Of GOD We can count on

  • Jesus saith that His sheep shall go in and out and find pasture; go forth, then, and feed in the rich meadows of boundless love."
    -- C. H. Spurgeon

"Behold, the LORD GOD will come with strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. He shall feed His flock like a Shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young"(Isaiah 40:10-11).

    1. Rest on a Promise
"The land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it"
    (Genesis 28:13).

"No promise is of private interpretation: it belongs not to one saint but to all believers. If, my brother, thou canst in faith lie down upon a promise and take thy rest thereon, it is thine. Where Jacob 'lighted' and tarried and rested, there he took possession. Stretching his weary length upon the ground, with the stones of that place for his pillows, he little fancied that he was thus entering into ownership of the land; yet so it was. He saw in his dream that wondrous ladder which for all true believers unites earth and heaven, and surely where the foot of the ladder stood he must have a right to the soil, for other wise he could not reach the divine stairway. All the promises of God are 'Yea' and 'Amen' in Christ Jesus, and as He is ours, every promise is ours if we will but lie down upon it in restful faith.

Come, weary one, use thy LORD's words as thy pillows. Lie down in peace. Dream only of Him. Jesus is thy ladder of light. See the angels coming and going upon Him between thy soul and thy God, and be sure that the promise is thine own God-given portion and that it will not be robbery for thee to take it to thyself, as spoken specially to thee."

    2. Remind God of His Promise
"And Thou saidst, I will surely do thee good"
    (Genesis 32:12).

"This is the sure way of prevailing with the LORD in prayer. We may humbly remind Him of what He has said. Our faithful God will never run back from His Word, nor will He leave it unfulfilled; yet He loves to be enquired of by His people and put in mind of His promise. This is refreshing to their memories, reviving to their faith, and renewing to their hope. God's Word is given, not for His sake, but for ours. His purposes are settled, and He needs nothing to bind Him to His design of doing His people good; but He gives the promise for our strengthening and comfort. Hence He wishes us to plead it and say to Him, 'Thou saidst.'

'I will surely do thee good' is just the essence of all the LORD's gracious sayings. Lay a special stress on the word surely. He will do us good, real good, lasting good, only good, every good. He will make us good, and this is to do us good in the very highest degree. He will treat us as He does his saints while we are here, and that is good. He will soon take us to be with Jesus and all His chosen, and that is supremely good. With this promise in our hearts we need not fear angry Esau nor anyone else. If the LORD will do us good, who can do us hurt?"

    3. He Freely Gives
"He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
    (Romans 8:32).

"If this is not a promise in form, it is in fact. Indeed, it is more than one promise, it is a conglomerate of promises. It is a mass of rubies, and emeralds, and diamonds, with a nugget of gold for their setting. It is a question which can never be answered so as to cause us any anxiety of heart. What can the LORD deny us after giving us Jesus? If we need all things in heaven and earth, He will grant them to us: for if there had been a limit anywhere, He would have kept back His own Son."

    4. Hear So as to Be Heard
"If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you"
    (John 15:7).

"Note well that we must hear Jesus speak if we expect Him to hear us speak. If we have no ear for Christ, He will have no ear for us. In proportion as we hear we shall be heard.

Moreover, what is heard must remain, must live in us, and must abide in our character as a force and a power. We must receive the truths which Jesus taught, the precepts which He issued, and the movements of His Spirit within us; or we shall have no power at the Mercy Seat.

Suppose our LORD's words to be received and to abide in us, what a boundless field of privilege is opened up to us! We are to have our will in prayer, because we have already surrendered our will to the LORD's command. Thus are Elijahs trained to handle the keys of heaven and lock or loose the clouds. One such man is worth a thousand common Christians. Do we humbly desire to be intercessors for the church and the world, and like Luther to be able to have what we will of the LORD? Then we must bow our ear to the voice of the Well-beloved, treasure up His words, and carefully obey them. He has need to 'hearken diligently' who would pray effectually."

    5.
    Heavenly Wealth
"No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly"
    (Psalm 84:11).

"Many pleasing things the LORD may withhold but 'no good thing.' He is the best judge of what is good for us. Some things are assuredly good, and these we may have for the asking through Jesus Christ our LORD.

Holiness is a good thing, and this He will work in us freely. Victory over evil tendencies, strong tempers, and evil habits He will gladly grant, and we ought not to remain without it.

Full assurance He will bestow, and near communion with Himself, and access into all truth, and boldness with prevalence at the mercy seat. If we have not these, it is from want of faith to receive and not from any unwillingness of God to give. A calm, a heavenly frame, great patience, and fervent love--all these will He give to holy diligence.

But note well that we must 'walk uprightly.' There must be no cross purposes and crooked dealings; no hypocrisy nor deceit. If we walk foully God cannot give us favors, for that would be a premium upon sin. The way of uprightness is the way of heavenly wealth-wealth so large as to include every good thing.

What a promise to plead in prayer! Let us get to our knees."

    6. Care of Our Feet
"He will keep the feet of His saints"
    (1 Samuel 2:9).

"The way is slippery and our feet are feeble, but the LORD will keep our feet. If we give ourselves up by obedient faith to be His holy ones, He will Himself be our guardian. Not only will He charge His angels to keep us, but He Himself will preserve our goings.

    1. He will keep our feet from falling so that we do not defile our garments, wound our souls, and cause the enemy to blaspheme.

    2. He will keep our feet from wandering so that we do not go into paths of error, or ways of folly, or courses of the world's custom.
  • Happiness and Peace
"I will greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I do this?
Henceforth will I look on all things with love and I will be born again.
    I will love the sun for it warms my bones;
yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit.
    I will love the light for it shows me the way;
yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars.
    I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart;
yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul.
    I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due;
yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge."
    Og Mandino
Love means to commit oneself without guarantee,
to give oneself completely in the hope that
our love will produce love in the loved person.
Love is an act of faith,
and whoever is of little faith is of little love.
    Erich Fromm
Let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.
For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of it's own mystery
